Topic 57 : Moorchhana creating different Ragas in Hindustani Classical Music
Moorchhana is a technique of shifting Shadja (S) on a different swara when the relationships of all swaras from the new Shadja changes. e.g., when Shadja is shifted from S to R2; S-R2-G1-M1-P become n1-S-R1-g1-M1. We find that several Ragas in Indian Classical Music share the same shrutis with a Moorchhana on different Shadja. Some examples are shown below.
